The Official Alphabetical List of Author Success

I guess I’m somewhere between G through K on this masterful list, but it all depends how you look at things. “I” is probably the closest in all elements. Still, funny as hell, Larry!

  1. Last month I asked Christopher Nuttall how many kindle books he’d sold this year so far, he guessed around 100,000. Standard 80% take on face value on KDP for the author, face value averaging around $3. Once you reach a certain level of productivity you can do quite well for yourself.

      • The Guy is a writing machine and he does it full time, but he spent years and years getting there. Lots of trial and error, lots of positive and negative feedback, lots of different types of stories. He writes in volume, but most importantly he tells good stories that are well thought out.

You write good stories that are well thought out as well. As time permits, if you can pump up the volume, I think you’d make a great living at it. Of course the day job of protecting the country and trying to kill evil doers is probably sucking up most of your time. Former Marines will always say preparing for killing is time well sucked.

On that vein, outlining various stories and thought exercises for the day when you can devote more of your time to writing is always good.
